It depends, it can symbolize youth and vivacity (spring), it can symbolize youth and inexperience as in someone being "green" or a "greenhorn." It can be symbolic of temptation (Gawain and the Grenn Knight is full of green symbols). It can symbolize man's fall to temptation as in the Garden of Eden. In short, green can symbolize so many things in so many different texts that to say it symbolizes any one thing would be folly.

I always relate the colour green to money. I was always told when going on a job interview NOT to wear green. It always refers to new. If you're green you're growing!
