want to start a hedge fund. have been in ivestment doing equity and options trading for last 3 years. some firms are romising to set u up for $80K. I think what they do, any one can do for far less.
What are the regulatory requirements?, what are the monetary requirements? Would like to start the hedge fund in Resl estate investment, and /or Equity investment in options, also investments in stock markets in india and china. Any ideas?

First of all. DO not give any firm that amount of money or even 1/10 of that.

Find out the regulatory guidelines in your area (it is based on region, country, etc).

Don't trust anyone who wants money up-front. If you have to pay a fee to the a government agency, then that's fine. Just be aware of being ripped off.
