My suggestion is to find a topic that you know a lot about so you already have the information in your mind. That way you can concentrate on delivery rather than reading.
Here are some thoughts.
1. Babysitting
2. Getting in shape
3. Helping the little lady across the street rake her leaves
4. Volunteering at the library
5. Being a friend
6. Running for a school office
7. Making a difference in your school
8. 8 ideas for making friends
9. Making cookies with my mom
10. The new features on a X-box game
11. Using Microsoft Excel or Word
12. Living on a ranch
13. Living in the country
14. Living in the city
15. How to say "No" to drugs
This is a really fun assignment and you should look forward to it with great anticipation. Remember, the only reason a rubber band is made is to be stretched. Yet if you could exam a rubber band under a microscope, every time it is stretched it changes. People are like that too. When they are stretched, they change. Making a fun speech like this will help you improve. Go get 'em! Tell me how you did and what you chose. Good luck.

What do you like the most, a certain movie, a certain book, Greek Mytology, cooking? Whatever you like the most (or at least a whole heck of a lot) find something unusual within that and talk about it for two minutes. I would shy away from demonstrations, two minutes tends to either be WAY more than you need or WAY less. Just present your unusual thing complete with the facts and lots of visuals (write it as if it were a story).

I would explain in fine detail how to design a four passanger family car that was a true hybrid system that could go 600 miles on 6 gallons of gas using technology that is available today. The car body design would be based off a toyota prius. Now briefly...this is how it is done. Have the body made out of aluminum and titanium alloys for strength and ultra lightness (aircraft use this). The prius has one nickel metal hydride battery the size of a briefcase to deal with it's energy recapturing systems. So let's add four more and link them together. Now add a simple trickle charging mechanism with a plug so you can charge it up at night. Now add photo-voltaic cells reccessed into the roof, hood and trunktop. Have these hooked up to the trickel charge system. (As long as it is in the sun, it is always trickle charging the battery- weather driving or not.) Instead of a 1.5 liter gas engine, we'll go for a .5 liter ultra efficient desil engine that runs a recharging system on low (1500rpm) or emergency high (2500rpm - enough to propel the car at 25mph when the battery is totally drained) . This engine also runs the air conditioning system. Add in the energy recapturing braking system and your good to go.
Currently, people have been able to get 20 fully electric miles out of standard priuses by simply adding one more NMHD battery and a trickle charger.
In the late 1990s, GM was able to get a fully electric car to go 60 mph with an impressive 150 mile range - on a trunkful of regular lead-acid batteries.
The idea is to start out with a big, fully charged system. While under way we are replacing a portion of what is spent using the sun and our little desiel motor. Remember: while stopped at lights or shopping or whatever, this car is recharging. It would not recharge at a self sustaining rate under constant driving, but it would cut back seriously the rate of battery discharge while driving. For service industry people who make many client visits a day, it is possible you may never even need to engauge the desiel motor. One thing for certain...you will always be looking for the sunny parking spots.
OK, now that I gave the info, Be on the lookout for black helicopters. LOL. Good luck. jason, (Phoenix Phish Care)

Unfortunately u connot talk about death coz u ain't dead until u dead. Fortunately u can talk about life, talk about your life, your experince, things that have brought barrels of wisdom to your little kingdom. Words of wisdom that will not only break boredom but give your friends freedom to think at random. Nothing wrong to jot down a few notes to help stick to the two minutes, go wiseman!

You could do it about a hot-topic local issue. For example, my grade 10 two minute speech was about the proposed airport to be built in the area, and why it is a bad thing.

Isn't it a bit late to be asking that ? Cuba is a country of contrasts - a communist state that dances to a salsa beat; a country where the main organ of government propaganda is named after a grandmother; a country where the people do their best to enjoy life, no matter what it throws at them. I guess you've looked at wikipedia.
