The earthworm's body is in segments, and alternately stretches and contracts for movement. It also has tiny-claw like bristles that are called setae which help them anchor themselevs on the soil.

it stretches its mid body & pushes its front body forward, then it pulls the rear end of the body towards the front end which is gripping the soil
