I have used quite some number of tools in my 8 year networking carrer and i am listing some of the best hear.

1. OpManager ( Monitors all Network Devices)
2. Iris Network traffic Analyser ( Used to observe traffic behaviour on a network)
3. Elitecore 24 Online (bandwidth Management Software)
4. Asterix ( Open Source Soft EPBX)
5. Smoothwall (Open Source Firewall)
6. IPCOP (Open Source Firewall)

you need to be freak about Internet Protocol IDs "IPs" and Workgroups or Domains...including DNS, WINS and other IPs...

That is all...don't use tools, it will make you ignorant!!!
