Parrots back in the days of pirates were an extremely rare bird and pet to own and pirates would often steal them to make themselves appear rich and modern! A modern pirate would never be seen without a parrot! Also, A captain would only say his words once and never again as a mark of rank so when he left, he would leave the parrot there to repeat his phrase! Most of all, it was because a parrot was an extremely rare bird and was deemed as being tropical meaning that people would think this pirate was amazing because he set sail for the farthest reaches of the planets!

Books are movies introduced a lot of stereotypes about pirates over the years. Now, when you think of pirates, you think of peg legs, hooks, parrots, eyepatches, and walking the plank (which NEVER happened, by the way.)

Pirates don't have an affinity for parrots, but for preying on fellow mariners.

Well I guess since they love sailing around so much in the tropics and the Spanish Main. And since they love being by the cool blue sea, that birds usually are found in the Caribbean and stuff, so if they find this beautiful parrot that talks, they probally think that they were striking gold. I mean you normally cant find many birds that land on your shoulder, let alone talk! Theyre very unique! Also it might be a possibility that they reek so bad that nothing usually comes near too them! Also I love your avatar! Its way cute!

Once the chief pirate give an order to his gang, the parrot will repeat it. So, he do not need to repeat it again and again.
