Quite a few. But online friends rarely evolve into real-life friends. Quite a lot of mine fizzled out after a while. It really takes much more effort to remain friends with someone online. And very often, the friendship build outside the online world doesn't last because in most cases, the person is so different from what one expects.

when i was 17 i met this guy in a roleplaying chat room. ever since we have been talking on the internet. i lived in texas he lived in utah. i'm 21 now and he's about 27 now. we never met. he's almost like a penpal. it's pretty cool.
