The others have given some name of the hotels providing candle light dinners, but for restuarant with tree houses you can try Baseara in ECR Road where you can have both tree houses and candle light dinners, I had gone there a couple of times, and found it to be good.

Not really sure about the tree houses...but these are some of the restaurants we really enjoyed during our last trip to Chennai.
Copper Point at GRT Grand Days Inn in T. Nagar. Great food, mostly North Indian, and full bar. Not really very dark or dimly lit but it can be a nice evening out.
Peshawri at Chola Sheraton on Cathedral Road. Great food, north/northwest Indian. Beautiful cavelike setting. A little more dimly lit than Copper Point but still bright enough that the candlelight is for mood only.
Kayal at Le Meridien near the airport. It's a mostly seafood restaurant. Dimly lit and romantic with candlelight. The candlelight is pretty much the only light there. The wine is SUPER expensive because of import taxes...but otherwise really nice.
The Farm House on East Coast Road. Good food and beautiful setting with waterfalls and koi ponds. No alcohol though. We went with some local friends who told us that the secret is to order a "special coffee" and the waiter will go buy you a beer from the nearest liquor store.
Hope that helps!
