If the Middle East treated women equally would terrorism never exist?

Interesting question. Actually Iraq under Saddam Hussein more or less did treat women equally. They were allowed to drive. They were allowed to vote (for Saddam Hussein anyway). That's a lot more than women are permitted to do in countries we call moderate like Saudi Arabia.

Also under Saddam Hussein...Iraq was a far lesser offender in terms of sponsoring terrorism when compared to other middle eastern nations (Syria, Iran, the Gulf States, Lebanon).

Please understand that I fully know Saddam Hussein was a horrible, evil, brutal dictator who the world will not miss. I am Jewish (culturally), and he did shoot missiles at Israel. I am glad he's dead. The problem is.......the guys in Iraq like Sadr make Saddam look good. The issue was never whether Saddam was bad, the issue was whether we could replace him with something better. In Iraq, where the majority of the nation is Shia, the answer is clearly no. We just created another Iran. One where women will not have the right to drive.

In short...I do think there is a common link between oppression of women and terrorism...that common link is reactionary extremist Islam.

no , we would have more terrorism! a lot of women are being treated pretty bad! you can research this if you wish!

if they wouldn't have someone to beat up or shoot in the back of the head , like they did in Afghanistan's soccer fields , they would be even more violent!

plus I think terrorism has truthfully nothing to do with the women any how! there is obviously so much hate that it just sort of boiled over and no one knows exactly how to put out the heat ,that makes it boil to begin with!

No. American women never were treated like middle eastern women even before feminism. And even in the middle east, the condition of women is variable, depending on which country we are talking about.

Hmm I think they treated their women too equally that's why terorism exists. Do you remember that there are some women suicide bombers? The terrorists like to recruit women cose people tends to think women are less tough and less military than the opposite sex, hence making them a less suspicious suspect.
