Rod Stewart said it best:
I wish
That
I knew what I know now
When I was younger
Yes, I surely learned my lessons the hard way--with much pain and hardship. From age 18 through 25 I spent being abused, cheated on, lied to, etc., and I truly believe that those experiences messed up who I am (though I did have a good life after that time).

I learned the hard way over and over that in most instances, the hardest things to go through are often the best thing for you. Such as, if you are in a situation that is going nowhere and in order to improve your situation financially or personally you must get the strength to part with some thing or someone, making that move to advance ultimately will be offset to the degree of severity you endured parting with it . Do not define your situations on an emotional level without tempering it with logic.

That you cannot fix people, and I learned it the hard way. There are some people that always seem to be in a bind, nothing goes right for them, always broke or having guy trouble or car trouble or whatever trouble. I always tried to help them, usually to my own detriment. I finally learned the hard truth, that some people are not happy unless they are miserable, and even if you go out of your way to fix all their issues with whatever they tell you "If I only had XX I'd be able to get back on track", they will simply run out and screw things up so that they're just as wrecked as before. I have finally learned how to identify those individuals and not allow my initial urge to help them get in the way of my newfound RunAwayQuickly instinct.

NEVER NEVER cash a cheque into your bank account for somebody through an ATM then give them the cash right away. 99% of the time the cheque will bounce and you will be screwed. Yes, I WAS a naive retard and I learnt the HARD way but now I am wiser than almost anybody I know when it comes to my finances and money.

Never EVER pass up a chance to pee.
My mother told me that and I tried to remember, but a couple of times I've been caught with a desperate urge and no where to go. That really made the lesson sink in.

How to be open and honest! I have in the past lost alot of really good potential friends because I was not honest with them. Since then I have grown up and realized that you don't have to lie to get what you want! I had to first learn how to be open and honest with myself before I could do it with anyone else. I am proud to say that I have mastered the open and honest part of my life. :-)
