YES IT IS LONG DEMAND OF THE PEOPLE THAT INSTEAD OF GIVING RESERVATION TO CERTAIN COMMUNITY THEY SHOULD GIVE FREE EDUCATION TO THE POOR PEOPLE THOUGH THEY BELONG TO ANY COMMUNITY OR CAST.

the government does try to help poor students but the government schools are not much efficient . the schools are also not provided with the funds from the government ,as it is eaten up by some politicians for their own selfish motives, to give more salary to the staff and have better educated teachers.the studies in government schools is such that only the very illiterate learn words like cat,dog,hat,mat,etc.etc.. the teachers are not paid properly due to which they do not teach with efficiency.

As I know poor students get help from Govt or from NGOs or from their community services. But no one gives aid in lakhs. And to get a seat in Medical or enginering one should get help in lakhs these days if he /she does not get a seat on merit. poor, weak children, living in slums with no one to help them with their home work at home usually dont get seat on merit.
Among my relatives children study in the night, shivering in winter, hungry, neighbors drunk and fighting whole night. Parents un co-operative. ! But they somehow manage to get a II class and pass through the exams.!
Remain jobless and drive auto rickshaws.

I feel sorry for you. There are several organisations under the ministry of education but they remain as a secret. Write a letter to the PM and President's office about your situation.

as mentioned by others, there are several, government and n.g.os. schemes which can help people like you. you may contact the ministry of human resource, government of India explaining what you exactly need. They may help you. Don't be pessimistic.

its not necessity to mention sir .government is providing a limited fund for poor students and it is also eaten by governament employees.

Be more specific as to what you plan to do and where do you need help ?
The GOI has several ongoing plans to help the needy but are mostly entrapped midway by the greedy.

Why should they? I didn't get help. I still have $25,000 in student loans to pay off. You have to pay for it.
