It is true.

To speak the truth is to be true. However many do not wish to hear the truth (as it can come as harsh blow sometimes). Hence many will feel you are being untrue to speak the truth and as such you will be untrue to speak the truth.

Hope this helps.

The truth is (and always will be) the truth.

A given statement could be the TRUTH at a given time, but the same statement may not be true another place or another time.

So your question is ambiguous because the second part doesn't say speak the TRUTH anytime, anywhere. It seems to reference repeating the same statement that was true BEFORE, but perhaps not NOW.

Is this the philosophy section; it sounds like you're talking about etiquette.

Are you asking, " is it ever false to speak the truth?"

Your question assumes that there is such a thing as "truth" as if it is some kind of absolute, definitive thing: "to speak the truth".

truth is more like an attitude that we hold towards certain ideas: we say or believe that it is or isn't true, regardless of how we came to that position.

If this is true, then 'a' truth is dependent on a context; therefore it would not be true in every situation (anytime, anywhere).

"It is true to speak the truth" if that's a valid statement that means that always its true without exceptions
if the statement a was formed as "usually It is true to speak the truth".
then the statement b would be valid.
so the B statement has colliding meanings,,
it sounds more like an argument betwwen 2 ppl rather than a logic
conclusion

Yes, the truth is not always necesarry. Sometimes the truth is a minor little thing that may have no bearing on a person's life but can still bring pain to them. On the other hand, I believe honesty is the best policy. Just not all the time.

Since we aren't talking about "Truth", but are talking about "truth", then I believe the statement is true. I believe this sentence is correct. Truth is a relative experience. If I tell you something that is "true" today, tomorrow everything changes and then I am left with a different "truth" or, something that is no longer true.

A is to A
-A to speak A anytime, -A anywhere.

Lost track. It's been SOOO long since I did logic like this. Got the symbols of f*cked up. Oh well.

This is a logic question, right? Or are you just trying to gain some insight from a quote?

According to Propositional Logic this statement is not true. I think it would be fun to write the whole proof out, but I don't have the time. But it doesn't calculate by Truth tables.

I would word it this way...........
not everything that goes through my brain needs to come out of my mouth.

It isn't necessary to speak all truth if it isn't' necessary or be viewed as hiding things. Some things are very personal and don't need to be shared with everyone

This question is an ethics question.

I would say it is true. There is a time and a place for certain things and some things are just not appropriate at the time.
