No, my self image is locked in my own head and I always see that when I look at a mirror, or photos of myself.

And it changes, depending on my mood and how I feel about myself, the "image" in a mirror of myself changes in my perception.

Really its the same with how I look at other people. There have been women that I found physically attractive, but then they may say or do something that really turns me off, and that drops their physical appearance down a few notches for me, to match the lower opinion I have of them at that time.

Not really. Mirrors don't show you in 3D. There are a lot of factors that contribute to the way another person sees you.

You do see a flipped image of yourself but what you see in the mirror may not be what others see. People have to receive an image and interpret it in order to make up their minds about what, exactly, they are seeing. Plus, depending on your self-esteem/psychological state you could be distorting your own image in your mind; making yourself look fatter or skinnier or taller, uglier, etc. In the end, we can never really know how others see us.

Everytime I go to my local WalMart, I can't help but feel there may be a shortage of, or that people have boycotted mirrors, for some reason.

wow, that's a great yet hard question, you really got me thinking! if your looking for scientific answer then no. but yes, most of the time mirors do show pretty acuretly what other people see when they look at you. but it's mentely up to you what you want people to see. when your looking in the mirior, your basicly putting a big microscope infront of yourself- only you are the onyl one noticing the "problems".
if i could rate this question it'll probably be * * * * * (5)
you really got me thinking, definetly!

No! they can only give you a perception what others see, as when we look at a mirror we see the reflection with our own eyes, we perceive ourselves differently to how others perceive us.
Hope I've explained.
