Yes. It has nothing to do with automobile traffic, etc.

In radio and television stations, the traffic department is the section of the business office that receives the commercials, either by satellite or by tape,from advertising agencies and networks, and schedules the commercials, keeps the buisness logs of of when the ads are scheduled, and makes a record of when the ads were run, and sends this information to the accounting department which bills the advertisers. They keep "proofs of performance", to verify the ads ran as scheduled, and as billed. Traffic today usually is run with computers, to make sure that advertisers are correctly billed. Different ads run at different times of day at different rates per minute, depending on schedules. Traffic will also schedule commercials to make sure there are no conflicts (you don't usually hear four competing auto dealers commercials one right after the other ! )

Report about the traffic for a few hours a day and play solitaire the rest of the time.
