I am 26F getting married in May and wanting to think about family and the future. But I have this worry in the back of my mind.... I have always had regular periods and regular paps, but I never feel ANYTHING on my right side. Only my left. even mid month when I am supposedly ovulating, I can feel it on the left. Crampy durng PMS, on the left and then, when I get my period - I only get cramps on the left side. If I didnt know any better, I'd think my insides were missing the right side completely. I wasn't too worried till my sister in law said "Well, that makes no sense... You cramp when the uterus contracts - your uterus can't contract only on one side..."

...or can it? I am also a fraternal twin and twins run in the family if that makes ANY difference. Anyone out there know? I won't have med ins for another month and I am thinking that I am like messed up on the inside or something now!!! PLEAS HELP ME>.. Desperate in Tucson, AZ.

It sounds to me like you just have an ovarian cyst on the left side- not cramps. Although the pain from cysts feel just like cramps to me except it's not in the center. I have endometriosis so I get cysts all the time. I can tell when a new one is there and exactly where it is. All cysts go away on their own anyways unless it's endometriosis. Even if they don't go away, they don't cause any harm to you except the pain. You could have an ultrasound done and they should be able to see the cyst from that. But don't worry- cysts are not a big deal at all!

You know how first one ovary provides the egg, then the other one provides the egg the next month? It could be that. What about your twin? If they're female, you might wanna ask them if it happens to them. I'd suggest seeing a doctor though.

you should tell an obgyn about your problem...you could be experiencing some minor problem with your left ovary....dont worry too much about it...i carried and delivered twins myself with a huge cyst on one of my ovaries...its no big deal...the doctor can take care of it easy enough...God bless you
