Is it, that your Monitor turns black and displays "Out of range"?
Then your graphics card was tunted with a special graphics card driver. Or the card doesn't recognize your monitor correctly.

Since I don't know the model of your card, you must live with this general description or ask again with the correct model of your card.

Open up the advanced display settings by right klicking the desktop and choosing "Settings".

Go to the settings tab and klick "Advanced".
In the monitor setting, look, that there is a refresh mode, that your Monitor can display (check the monitors user manual).

In case your graphocs card driver has installed several control panels, check if these have a setting to change the resolution or frequency depending on games. Set these to settings that are suitable for your monitor, too.

Try to install the latest graphics driver.

Do a virus scan and install spyware blockers. malware often attacks any .exe it sees loaded and corrupts it before it even gets a chance to execute, often causing the "out of range" problem you are experience.

other possibles are corrupt files in the temp directory.
