ok well when i plug my ipod into computer, and you know how it says do not disconnect?
well, can i just unplug it or do i have to click something on the computer?

on the left hand side of iTunes where it shows the little picture and the name of your iPod, there should be a little eject icon. You should click that before you unplug it to disconnect the iPod's software from your computer.

When the iPod has been updated you can disconnect it.
Look for an EJECT Symbol next to the iPod Nano Icon in your iTunes Browser.

no, you're not supposed to just disconnect it. there should be an icon on the right hand side of your screen, on the lower part, where your clock is. Right mouse click on that icon (has a green arrow), and choose "Safety removal.." when you click on that, just follow the instructions (click stop on the one box, and CLOSE on the other box that will pop up), and a yellow box will appear, telling you it's safe to remove your device from the plug.
