I like it okay. The one problem I see is that there is never a single race during the daytime. That sucks. But there are a variety of game types within the game that I like. I especially love the cop chasing scenarios. Disable 10 cop cars then get away? Cool.
I would suggest you rent the game at Blockbuster first if you seem fit to question whether or not the game is right for you.

I've been playing the Need For Speed Games for the last couple of years. I think Most Wanted is one of the best video games ever made. That being said, I had high hopes for Carbon, It hasn't had the lasting addiction to play it like Most Wanted did with me. If you've played other Need For Speed games I would say get it-its better than any other racing game made. But if you haven't played the other Need For Speed games, i suggest getting Most Wanted first. The game play in Carbon is similar but set always at night. The big focus in Carbon is on earning the right to race the big boys through the canyons (Carbon Canyon). Some of the canyon racing is very difficult, and its easy to go through a rail and off a cliff during a race. Personally I find the drift races very difficult and have a tough time getting by those challenges. I also recommend Need For Speed Underground 2. Its cool just to drive around the city in free roam mode (also a feature of Most Wanted and Carbon). I've played Underground and Porsche Unlimited but was not impressed by either of those NFS games. Have fun!

The Game should've been called Need For Speed Most Wanted 2...It's a good game it's just too much like Most Wanted the only difference is that you can Auto Sculpt your cars ( Which means that you can change the size of individual car parts to your liking) and you race in a canyon just like Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift...i love the NFS Series, this one is good, it just could've been better...Go ahead and rent it first and then wait a couple of months and it will go down to $19.99 like MW did...
