Why when minorities get killed the news only talk about them for 1 minute like it isn't important?

You have a point. If the victim was pretty, white, blond and or a cheerleader then we'll hear about it until the end of time. UNLESS they happened to be a celebrity (rappers excluded).

The News is very political and is almost like a business, it shows what only a certain few want to hear about. It shows murder's because they attract attention, and with more viewers they get more money (in the long run).
It sucks that this is the way the news is run, because it should be not bias, but its not, and its upto the viewer to filter out these things, for there is little we can do quickly. Changes take a long time.

Yeah, I'm not sure what part of the country you are in, but where I am at MURDER IS MURDER and it is all reported on equally regardless of race - basically because murder is serious regardless of who it happens to.

AND the news in my city STAYS on the story until the case is solved and the perpetrator goes to jail - again regardless of race.

Sounds like someone is trying to stir up some trouble - also sounds like you are set in your ways and will never change your mind or even open your mind to move forward - sort of like a lot of racist whites, Asians, Latinos. That is sad...

I think you must mean local because internationally, we have never gotten 20% of the world news. a lot could be from lack of money in those areas and/or other races.
newspapers are interested in their consumer ratings, their stockholders, which story they should push.
They do not worry that much about real investigation in case they find they do not agree with authorities. that would mean they would have to face criticism if many people wanted the person to be guilty, to feel something was closed, not that a guilty person was in jail so much.

You know, I've seen this complaint a thousand times. It really depends on where you live and your city's crime statistics. If you live in a community that is prodminately a certain ethnic diversity then they will showcase to cater to the public. Everyone knows the news is about politics. Government controls what we watch as well as what we are made aware of. Change government then you can society!!

because someone getting killed in the city is not shocking.

someone being abducted and killed, or killed in a small rural town is shocking and people will watch. and the vast majority of the population in these areas is white folks. it has nothing to do with do you matter, it has everything to do with, can the media make money from it.
