The above listed films are not set during Halloween though when you would see falling leaves and autumn colors instead.

Well, it enhances romanticsm to make more admirable, as opposed to rainy season making bleaker. There is a beauty with snow that rain doesn't have.

Winter is when the plants/ earth are supposed to be dead. More atmospheric for a movie with dead characters in them
