i am now financially down and i asked my so called "friends" if they can lend me money and promised I pay them next payday. they told me they dont have money and I understand so i did not ask anymore. the morning & the next days after , i saw them shopping at a mall nearby.i feel offended by what they did so i started to avoid them. they keep on asking me to spend time with them but i keep on telling them excuses. how can i deal with such friends when you know that they are really not true friends to you?

I hope you really want feedback and not just people to agree with you, because as much as I can relate, to not having enough money to get through the next day, I have to tell you that friends are not those that are prepared to lend you money. Some friends certainly have loaned money to others, but to say they must not be true friends if they refuse, means you may not understand the true meaning of friendship. From a business point of view most landlords are not prepared to rent property to relatives or friends, because it usually leads to losing their friends and getting offside with the relatives. My advice - Go to your friends and say " I am sorry I should not have put you on the spot like that and it will not happen again". Then you will keep them as friends...

It seems you are learning a good lesson. True friends a few and far between. Always try to do your best and manage your money well. To be independent is one of the best things a person can do for themselves.

You deserve better friends, during hard times people usually find out who they're real friends are, that's part of life, don't waste your time trying to work things out with thoses so-called homies, take the time to work things out financially and towards yourself and enjoying your family's unconditional presence

they must not be that good of friends. that sucks though. you could confront them so that you can hear the truth. maybe just make new friends.
