Maybe you have interesting facial features or a pretty skin tone. They might not mean it to hurt your feelings. People are curious. You could make a joke of it like say I'm a little bit of everything or say you have the best of all races. I don't know. Saying it's none of your business is a little harsh if they are just curious. But I agree race doesn't matter. We are all the same. Nobody is better than anyone else.

I am always curiuos about everyone's nationality. Of course, I know if they are here in the US, they are American, but everyone came from somewhere, right? Except natives, even Mexicans from the southwest. I am drawn to last names. I like to know the origin, just because I find it amazingly interesting. Just a couple months ago, I found out my friend is Portugese and I thought she was Latina alll this time, until I heard her speak what I thought was Spanish, but for some reason I could not grasp most of it. I have a Portugese friend. I want to know as much about Portugal as I can.
I think people ask your ethicity because they are interested, not to be judgmental or rude. Proudly tell them your percents. By the way, your family sounds beautiful. I can only wish to have such a diverse family as yours. Diversity makes people stronger. You are lucky in my view.

You're right. If you're a sarcastic person ( I can be sometimes) the next time someone asks just say I'm the best of everything or you could say mind your own business or 1 other idea. You could say something you are obviously not. Like if you don't have any white in you then say I'm white. I could think of so many more, if you need them let me know.

It will show up in your face....No one should ask..If they learn about culture and life..and people..When I heard about Tyson Beckford or Kimora Lee's backgrounds..I kinda knew already..because when you come from an ethnic background it shows in the face..You can say one race..but people will see the other part of you...You are all those cultures combined and hopefully your family blessed you with enough love to know that your cultures are true blessings...Black..White..Hispanic and Chinese..I just hope you love all of you

Race should not matter. White Americans whose families have lived in the US for several generations are most likely a mixture of several ethnic groups. I, for example, am an American born and raised in Los Angeles, and that is the end of it.

i agree with ebonyruff. people may not mean it in an annoying way and may not realize theyre the third person to ask you that that day. my advise is to write it down on a card and show it to people when they ask u so that u dont have to keep saying it, or pick one of the races youre mixed with and tell them that. after you tell enough people the different answers theyll get together on their own and figure it out. its not your problem.
