I've been reading about the Flamingo and am looking at staying there for 6 nights in Sep/October. At this stage I can't find a good price for those dates, even on the Flamingo's webpage these dates are not available to book yet. Does this mean they are going to be closed down by then, or is it just that they haven't released the rooms for those dates yet because it's so far away?
Also, what's the cheapest room rate anybody has got for this hotel and when was it?
Thanks.

Thanks cardsfan. It's a bit different to when I was on the website the other day. Never mind, I could just be a bit crazy ;)
I can see that price for our stay (9/28 >> 10/6) is apporx $140/night. I was hoping to get it cheaper than that. Hows does this "25% cheaper than online" thingo work? Do we have to ring the hotel?

Stayed there for free a few times(comp). The best room rates of the year in Las Vegas are found after the National Finals Rodeo(NFR) up until just before New Years. For 2007 that would be from December 9th until the 28th.

Hotels in LV want a full house, so they scramble to fill rooms during this time, even if it means practically giving them away. A couple years ago I stayed at the Orleans for $163.50(tax included), that was the total cost for 10 nights. I'm holding 10 nights now at the Gold Coast 12/16-26th for a total cost of $224.

If I had the exact dates you were going at least I could use my favorite LV travel sites to compare room rates to tell you if you could get a good deal or not. >Harrah's hotels, the Flamingo included have a best rate guarantee, they will beat any online rate for their hotel you find and beat it by 25%.

I used 9/28 - 10/4 and ran them through the Flamingo web site the average rate was $146 on "Travelworm" the rate was $141

I don't know why it was telling you those dates were not available to book. I checked dates up to December 26th-28th and was quoted rates. try this site and link to the Flamingo web site and see what you come up with
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com > "VEGAS INFO" >casinos >use the Flamingo link > enter the dates you're interested in.

Other room rates for those dates >to compare
Stratosphere - $74
Riviera - $88.67
Orleans - $103.67 >will price match
Tuscany - $108.33 - an all suites hotel on Flaminigo Rd.

I have stayed at the Flamingo many many times and I do like it for the price and location. Their rooms are nice too. The rate calender online probably covers only 4 or 5 months so you are too early. What you can do is book waht they have and then keep checking back for lower rates or book somewhere else and wait until mid-summer to try again.

Flamingo is nice but old. The best part about it is its in the middle of the strip so it is easy to get to. Also it has Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville restaurant in there.
