Yes, because someone died. Wether she intended to or not. There has to be a reason that she did not see brake lights when the traffic was backed up. She obviously was not paying attention. She should be held accountable. If I was related to the person killed, I would sue for wrongful death reguardless of social status.

I understand "accidents" happen to innocent people, but she was speeding at 65mph. Brandy was speeding and in fact is responsible for the death in the accident. When I read this on People.com I was very furious to find out they weren't going to press charges, now the family filled a lawsuit against Brandy. She shouldn't be let off easy just because she was or is a celebrity. If this would've happened to somebody like you or me...we would be in jail this minute(unless you are rich). I hope the authorities get to the bottom of this and justice is served.

I didn't get all of the details of the accident unitl this morning. It's sad a life was taken, but whatever the penalties are for us "regular" people should stand for Brandy. Someone who lives in LA mentioned her going 65 mph can be done eeeeeeeeearly in the morning, but during the time she was speeding she should have known better.

Although she wasn't drinking, using drugs, and investigators determined her brakes weren't malfunctioned she's still being charged with vehicular manslaughter. I feel for her, but if I were behind the wheel and was the cause of an accident because I wasn't paying attention...I'd get whatever punishment for the crime.

So, I guess I'm saying yes, I think she should be charged if she's guilty.

No, because of the fact they did no longer do something incorrect. It develop into desperate that Brandy did no longer end in time, and motives the accident. the vehicle then spun into yet another automobile, that for the period of no smart way might have prevented it. whether that is desperate that your strikes of unsafe using led to an accident, you will be charged. actual, Brandy made a mistake and could maximum possibly get an excellent. i've got self belief that's the suited sentence provided that se wasn't negligent, basically made a using blunders.

If it was me should I be charged for the accident. That is really the issue, take away the clebrity status and decide the case on it's merits alone, not who the driver happened to be.

Look at Mel Gibson, or Billy Joel, why just because they are rich and famous are they not imprisioned for drunken driving like anyone else? Celebrites seem to get off so easy, that is what is not right. Punishments need to be given out equally.

If President Bush got in a drunken driving accident and killed someone I would want him to go to jail like anyone else. Especially him, since he has killed so many people already.

I dont think so it was an accident. She wasnt on anything and had no intention of killing someone. Just a horriable accident. My best friend died while riding his bike because an elderly man was blinded by the sun.. No charges were filed because it was an accident.. He has to live with that forever, punishment enough!

i'd have to agree with erin. it was an accident. i'm sure she feels bad enough. Brandy's a good person with a good heart, she didn't mean it. put yourself in the situation. i know if it was me i'd cry my heart out. i know crying isn't enough but it was an accident. u can't take it back no matter what. remember everything happens for a reason.

From the information I have from the news, I'd say she needs to be charged accordingly. Celebrity status should not be taken into account of the act, as it really has no ethical place in matters of law.

If she was at fault then yes. It makes you mad when "celebrities" get treated differently when it comes to the law. Most of the time, its just a fine and a stint in rehab. If it were you or me, we'd be in jail for at least 6 months.

If she was in the wrong then yes because if she was just some girl off the street then she would be charged!! Its not fair to let celebrities off the hook just because they are famous! we are suppossed to be equal whats equal about celbs??
