no, i think google web accelerator has a ways to go yet but i don't think it is your answer anyways. i agree that you should get broadband cable modem internet (no, you do not have to go cable tv to get it by itself) from a cable tv company of high repute in your location. you will NEVER go back to using an ISP such as aol, not ever. i'd not take dsl, i would take broadband. if comcast is prevelent in your area, i give it very high kudos.

be sure to back up your contacts from your ISP, if you are now on one, and to be certain, go ahead and make a hard copy of them. you can always also transfer older email to your yahoo email account--just check yahoo help to do it.

other ways to gain speed are:

do NOT get any registry editor program no matter what they promise

at the top of your browser, go to tools, internect options, under temporary internet files, choose to delete cookies, then delete files (i'd save my offline if i were you). do this at least once a week

do not take ie 7, i don't care how they tout it, unless you are on vista os

else, once you clear out temp inet files and cookies you don't need, you MIGHT buy norton's SYSTEM WORKS, which just happens to make it easier as well as more visual to get these clean up tasks done, including DEFRAG after you clean up temp cookies and files. i would defrag my drive at least once a month.

you don't have to buy that program, you can set up a MS defrag monthly--but be sure to do what i said above before it runs. you will find degrag like this: start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk defragmenter.

another tip: get an external hard drive so you never lose your current files, particular your pictures and music. completely format it once a month too and then do a completely new full ms backup (at system tools too). then see if the external hard drive needs defrag, but i bet it will not.

i do not really like this program, but if you can figure out how it works without delaying you to getting onto your routine inet sites without many problems, microsoft has what is called ClearIECache.

be sure to always perform viral scans, adware scans, spyware scans, all before you do a defrag. happy computing!

whilst i grew to become into on dial-up, i could open a number of diverse websites after one loaded, so as that as quickly as i ended analyzing or posting on the single i grew to become into on, others could have opened. There are classes which you would be able to acquire that declare to hurry up your connection... My firewall has advised me they have been virus or different malware whilst i attempted that attitude... stable success... As others advised you, it helps as quickly as I close lots of the open classes, in line with threat... If i'm working with a photograph editor, together as the internet is downloading an internet site into my browser, it impacts the pc reaction time, quite than the internet...

Software has little effect on internet speed. Most of the stuff advertised is useless. If you want high speed internet access inquire of your TV Cable company or your telephone company.

u need ultra fast broadband and check with you isp or others. i get comcast and it rocks. i also use firefox and it's safe that ie6 and ie7 sucks. cleaning your registry and cache and using cache cleaner and spybot search and destroy may help to speed some things up.
