I wonder if you might be referring to the shifts at a factory or other workplace that produces around the clock. Normally, there is the
Day Shift (8am-4pm)
Swing Shift (4pm - 12midnight)
Night Shift (12midnight - 8am)
Perhaps some companies call them the A, B and C Shift.
