Yes. A six foot sunflower can grow very fast.

However make sure you follow these steps

*a soil that drains well and contains a lot of mulch. About two weeks before planting I mix a bit of steer manure into the soil where I am going to plant.

*place your seeds about 1/4" deep in the soil and cover. Place your seeds 12" to 18" apart. Water real well soaking the soil.

Sunflowers grow quickly. They need warm soil to germinate. They grow in mature in about 90 days. That is to the seeds being ready to harvest. Just for large flowers, maybe two months.

i would say generally a month or two. i buy my mom sunflower seeds every mothers day and by the end of the summer they are over 6 feet tall and so beautiful
