I want to restore windows xp to how it was when i first bought it. How can i delete the remaining files that were on it before? Like do a clean sweep of the hard drive.

Your computer should have came with a system restore disc that you can use to restore Windows to the way it was when you originally purchased it and wipe out anything you have saved on the hard drive.

Depends on the PC, but try Ctrl + F11, when you Turn the computer on and wait for the keyboard to light up(as soon as it lights up) press those buttons. Keep in mind all files will be erased.

Run System Restore. In programs, go to Accessories,then go to System Tools, then click System Restore That'll do it.

New computers usually come with a restore disk. Run that. But do a backup of your data first, if you need to.

ypu can run window xp disc
n then choose repair/recover....
repair/recover will not delete the file remaining
