After the wizards beat the pistons for the second straight time with jamison injured, it doesn't look like they have have any competition with no other team in the east above .600 and Miami in limbo. The pistons have been overrated this year even though this pistons team is nowhere near as good as last year's team that got pounded by the heat. webber's recent play is misleading, as it's mostly due to the euphoria of playing in his hometown. He has played well against bad teams, but scored in single digits in the pistons' three losses against the jazz and the wizards. With the loss of ben wallace and the addition of webber, the pistons are now being exposed as an aging jump-shooting team that no longer plays great defense as in tonight's game against the short-handed wizards.

Yes. 10 Points on why the Wizards will win the East:
1.) Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antawn Jamison are playing amazingly. Gilbert would be my second vote for MVP, right behind Steve Nash. Caron Butler will make the All-Star game, and Jamison might make it, but he is playing more like a power forward, with more blocks. He has been increasing his points though, so look for him in the second half of the season.
2.) Deshawn Stevenson can match up defensively, along with Caron Butler who is one of the top in steals and steals per game.
Plus, Darius Songalia will be back soon so that will help defensively off the bench.
3.) Brendan Haywood and Etan Thomas are playing much better than last year, and are more aggressive in the paint.
4.) The Pistons, without Ben Wallace, have lost the strength that they had last year.
5.) The Bulls, with Ben Wallace, are still struggling to find their team, and they are still maybe one or two years away from getting into their prime.
6.) The Nets and the whole Atlantic division is just horrendous.
7.) The Cavs are not doing as well as expected this season, but that may be because of injuries to Lebron and Larry Hughes. Still, if the Wizards get home court, they will win as each team so far has won against each other on home courts.
8.) Indiana, Orlando, and Toronto are all struggling, and at this point, barely making the playoffs.
9.) The Heat are struggling with injuries to Shaq and problems to Pat Riley. The will be better in the second half of the season, but will not be able to catch up enough with the dismal first half.
10.) The Wizards are 18-4 at home, and 9-5 on the road after a horrible 0-8 start on the road. The Wizards will continue to do well against the Eastern teams.

When, not if, the Wizards win the East, they will take that home court advantage and go to the Finals. Although they may lose in the Finals to the superior Western teams, the Wizards will hopefully be able to entice some center/power forward to come to the Wiz and help our interior.

They will. They are explosive, with Arenas, Butler, and Haywood guaranteed 60 points combined. Jamison only left the game on a sprained knee. He shouldn't miss more than 1-2 games. Count him in for 15 points. The bench men Antonio Daniels and Stevenson commit 7-9 points each. Give them a combo 15 points combined. 60+15+15+points by either Jarvis Hayes or Etan Thomas. And you have a 100+ point team.

Their defense?
Caron Butler - 2.1 steals a game
Arenas - 2.0 steals a game
Their starting five avgs. 32 rebounds a game.

This team is for real. They will win their division with Heat in a mess and Magics lacking the fire power. The team can contest a weak East that doesn't have much to talk about. Not like the West who have streaking PHX and the Mavs. Wizards will win the East. The Bulls aren't meshing as well as hoped and the Pistons are skating on thin ice. Sorry guys, but it's finally the Wizards year. Reserve those Arenas jerseys now. I got mine

Nope there is not any way they are in a position to win the East. no longer with the gang they have now besides. Detroit remains the B-Ball savvy group of the East, Lebron might have dismantled them yet their nonetheless to be reckoned with. The Cav's might beat the Wiz's in the playoffs as nicely. i'm additionally incredibly specific Boston might desire to take them as nicely. exterior of those 3 communities they have a shot to triumph over any of the different communities in the East in the playoffs.

yes i do think they will win the east even when i am the biggest pistons fan ever. in the summer, all the pistons players said it would be no effect of ben wallace leaving the team. but the pistons are facing a huge blowout and i don't think that the addition of webber is helping them
