Most likely means you should be able to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other standard business-required programs with relative ease. If you can navigate your way around this website, you should be fine :o)
Local community colleges usually have courses (some on-line) that teach you the basic and intermediate levels of the programs named above, if you don't already know them...

The word "proficient" means capable of performing the task. In other words it means you know how to use a computer.

It means that you need to be good at using a computer. You can be given tasks to preform on a computer and with little or no help, you can quickly perform the assigned task. They can't ask if you are a "computer geek", but the can ask if you are "proficient".

computer proficient means that one must know the ins and outs
of a computer. you must be a professional when it comes
to knowing a computer be more like a geek.

It sounds pretty basic.
Can you type?
Do you know what a website is?
Do you know what email means?
Do you know what a program is?
Remember all the things you didn't know about before you used a computer?
Other than that, the other things, like Word, Excel, Power point are pretty standard in the buisness environment.

It means that you have to use a computer in the daily operations of the job you have applied for. You are expected to be able to do a bit more than yahoo Q&A on a computer.

Meaning you can run the computer without help from anyone, understand the the windows, the word processor, send email, read email, research online, etc.

it's simply mean that you should be computer literate
still not understand
in profession way they would tell computer proficient which means you should know how to operate a computer and it would be great if you have cert in computer skills...........
