The Waterkloof Four........?

Question

The Waterkloof Four were given sentences of 12 years in prison.
Now, I believe that if they are guilty then they got what they derserve.

The question however is why there is such a massive media coverage (newspapers, top stories on TV news, etc) given specifically to this case when there are over 15000 murders a year in SA, many in much more brutal circumstances which would stimulate similar public interest.

Why is it that when there is a White on Black murder, it is immediately "racist" but when the situation is reversed, it is practically never given the same treatment?

This begs the question of whether racism towards whites is regarded as acceptable?

Yes. Racism towards whites - specifically white men - is acceptable in the politically correct netherworld that South Africa has become.
I knew nothing about this 'Waterkloof Four' case until I saw this question posed. Upon research, it's painfully obvious these kids are as guilty as sin. They're lucky they got just twelve years.
The issue of preferential treatment towards blacks is separate, but a valid one. It's a reality that's not going to change soon.

You are preaching to the choir here. The white South African male is the most discriminated against group of people in the country. But because some white guys, that I have no memory or connection to, discriminated against the black community, I apparently now have no rights. As for the waterkloof 4, I agree with your comments, they are guilty, and it has been made into a big deal because of colour, not because of the crime.

I agree with unreal hero but not with robert w. Unreal hero is not a racist. He's just talking some common sense here. When your skin is white (for example the Boeremag and Waterkloof 4) they appear on the front page of every newspaper. Then you get all this farm murderers. Well well well, guess what? Those racists are still walking among us. You see no police force or helicopters searching for them. I mean, how many farmers have been killed so far over the years? Thousands of them. Are the murderings still taking place? Yes. CONCLUSION: Racism towards whites = acceptable.

unreal hero - let me answer your question with a small trivial FACTUAL scenario, that wouldn't be internationally newsworthy to anyone, that happened an year or two ago in port elizabeth.

a white man, travelling home from work, gets a call on his cell that his daughter was critically injured in a car accident, and he is advised to get to the hospital promptly.

in a panic, he tries to get there as fast as possible, with his emergency lights on, and is pulled over for speeding by a black cop. he explains to the cop what has happened and that his daughter is dying, even asking for an escort to the hospital.

this cop REFUSES to assist the guy, DOESN'T CALL THE HOSPITAL TO CHECK WHETHER THE ISSUE IS VALID OR NOT, AND refuses to let him go. the guy in his frustration, tries to shove off the cop, who promptly ARRESTS HIM for ASSAULT. this father is imprisoned for the night. by the time he is finally released, he finds out that his daughter has since died. OF COURSE THIS NEVER MADE IT PAST THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS.

NOW I DEFY ANYONE TO TELL ME THIS WASN'T A REVERSE RACISM INCIDENT!. and do you critics out there think this was acceptable? as i understand it, the cop was reprimanded and didn't even lose his job!!!!

Quite simply South Africa follows the fashionable politically correct liberal Media of the West. Your added ingredient is White guilt and the need to ingratiate themselves with their political masters. Remember they decide who broadcasts and/or prints so it political and business expediency. In todays World only Whites can be racists and minority Groups have more rights than the mainstream public.The good news is that in the UK people are sick and tired of it, especially with that Big Brother fiasco, and there may well be a backlash soon.How about this for a test.

The Police can find no motive because nothing was stolen etc. I hear on streaming that they have just arrested 3 people ( Blacks I assume). Lets see if your Print and Electronic Media report it as a racist murder or what angle they come up with. Do you want to take any bets on it?

Just by posing this question, you stand accused ,already, of being a racist.
If you look in all media , you will notice that it all has a skew.Interest groups of all types have a weight on the media.
The problem is that we are either too complacent or apathetic and the lobbies or pressure groups win.

IMO it was given so much attention because of the nature of the crime and the people involved. I mean, we hear of blacks committing crime most of the time, ne!? So, hence when it is the other way around, people are shocked and want to know more. We are after all, nuuskerige agies!
