At two months, the child moving inside should not cause pain. If you feel anything, it should feel something similar to butterflies in your stomach. Most women do not feel anything from the baby until the 4th month. Your pain can be caused by your ligaments and pelvis preparing for the growth of the baby. But you should get to your OB/GYN and be checked out. He/she may be able to help you determine the cause of the pain better. Trust your instincts though. If you feel something is wrong, then don't stop searching for answers until you get some.

The baby is already moving at two months. It's too small for you to feel, though. (I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and we could see the baby moving like crazy).

You may be feeling round ligament pain, which is caused by the ligaments that support the uterus stretching. It can be pretty intense, ranging from a dull ache to a stabbing pain. It's usually felt low on the sides of the abdomen.

You could also be in pain from the sluggish digestive system common in early pregnancy. In other words, you might be constipated. The solution for that is to increase your fiber intake...fresh fruit, veggies, prunes, oatmeal, raisin bran, etc...and to go for a little walk after dinner to get things moving.

If you're feeling a strange pain during pregnancy, don't hesitate to call your doctor. They're used to having to reassure nervous women, and they know what is normal and what warrants medical attention.

The fetus is capable of movement at 2 months, but it will not be perceptable to you. The first time you are able to feel the fetus moving (called quickening) is between 18 - 24 weeks. It should not be painful.
