Ever been to

http://www.costofwar.com

Go there. The numbers are disturbing. It's a running total of the U.S. taxpayer cost of the Iraq War. The number is based on Congressional appropriations.

You can also see what that "war money" could have done for our economic health. Click on the links under "Or compare to the cost of..." on the page.

What do you think about the site? Is it exaggerating or about right?

I've heard that a lot of the money doesn't just leave the U.S. It also comes back to us in form of jobs.

Most of that money is going right in the pockets of big time GOP contributors, like Boeing, Halliburton, Bechtel and the mercenaries they hired.

Most places in the world, they call that "corruption" but for some reason these kinds of kickbacks are tolerated by the Administration. I guess they need the campaign contributions.

Don't forget to add in:

the lives of those who died in Iraq, American and otherwise,

the reputation of our country,

the future costs of the weapons and supplies,

the backlash from innocent peoples deaths,

the countries who will not stand with us anymore,

etc...

.

Simple, take one soldier
(Cost of food + Cost of injury + Cost of housing + Cost of weapons) x the hundreds of solders over there x everything by how long we have been there! plus Cost of Death and funerals!

Then minus the labor and cost of people here bringing and making supplies over there!

STILL TOO MUCH!
