a multiplication sentense is a multipliation problem. for example, 2x2=4 or two times two equals four

When I was teaching elementary school and had to admister the stupid standarized tests, the tesing packet would say that a multiplication sentence was similar to : 7 x 9 = 63
But you can put it into words, such as:
seven taken nine times is sixty-three.
