I am going through a rough time of empty nest with my oldest daughter who is 18 moving out this coming Saturday and I have been crying all the time and need a laugh for a change! So if you had to give a word of advice to someone just going out into the world what would you say? We already have I love you and be careful covered unless you can think of something funny to go along with it? We also have 3 other children so she is the first to be leaving home. Nothing dirty please...Thanks

Bring it on! I need to lol :P

its not really funny, but when i was moving away, i never really got over it untill i heard this quote:
"don't be sad that it ended, be happy that it happened"
i think i'll be a totally different person if i never came accrose that quote...
also makes you realise that your not the only one going though something...hard. treasure your memories.

Tell her she has to be a big girl now, because once she's gone theres no coming back. As of sunday your renting out her room,to a nice young man...
I'm sure she will be fine, and so will you.Just let her know she always welcome to come back if things dont work out for some 18 is a little to soon.

I would make sure she knows that if she ever needs to come back, that she is welcome. And, saying "I love you" can never be enough.

HUGS!
