Any country that has an 'official' news outlet censors.
Even in Europe the news media is careful to toe the government line.

Of course it is. Have you any doubts at all ? Almost all totalitarian countries censor all news sources, either before publication or broadcast, or by sanctions against the broadcasters or writers after the fact. China is now busy censoring Google and other internet sites; Russia censors broadcasters and has recently shut down tv stations. To say nothing of Myanmar, Cuba, and dozens of other countries.

Do I THINK it is???? No I am a journalist and I KNOW for a fact that it is. Take China for example. They have a communist gov't. The powers that be there have a say over EVERY single thing that is reported there. They are not going to allow anything that goes against their political agenda to be reported there. The internet is even censored in China. If you are in China and go to google, for instance, and type in Tianamin Square, what you will read on that page is much different than what the rest of the world can read on the same google.....
Knowledge is power and the only power that China's government wants to exist in China is it's own.

News is censored in most countires if not all. Someone controls what you see and hear and it may depend on the government or the slant used by the media outlet. CNN and PBS are left leaning and FOX News is right leaning.

You know that feeling you got after 9/11 ... ???? Like the blinders had slipped off...
Right here... in our own country... they started to slip them back on us immediately.
War, terrorism, hype, fear... they all help to sell media time, commercials, weapons, uniforms, books, etc...
We have a media monopoly here and all the major networks have to play ball if they want to be in the know... or worse yet... safe.
This administration is vindictive and has even exposed our own spies to protect its lies (i.e.: Valerie Plame).
They have turned into a Gestapo and can take anyone and lock them away on foreign lands without telling anyone... and do.
NPR was ours... but now it too has been corrupted with "new" management.
I prefer to get insight from several different sources... like :
http://www.alternet.org/
http://www.truthout.org/
http://mediamatters.org/
http://english.aljazeera.net/News
www.fair.org
there are many, many others... but I have found that these lack spin and aren't trying to protect anyone but us, for a change...
They are also pretty well hated by war-profiteers and the like.
I can only read english, so... I don't know about different languages in different countries.... oh... but you know what is amazing ? Rupert Murdoch, who owns and controls the evil FOX news, has even more media holdings overseas than he does here !
Great question, thanks for asking!

In all seriousness though, yes. Almost everywhere. No matter where you go, censorship is there, though that is not neccessarily a bad thing in some cases.
