Most genetic mutations lead to cancer. At best they make a the individual of a species better able to survive and procreate, thus causing the whole species to eventually take on the mutation while those without the beneficial mutation die out(that's evolution for you). Inbetween the mutation really does nothing but make your hair blond instead of brown or make you a midget instead of normal hight. Of course there is no possible way any kind of mutation will give you superpowers like the x-men so sorry.

No think about the energy it would take to do those things. Where is is coming from? Energy can not be created only transformed. If you perform a super human feat that requires a huge amount of energy.
