I understand your feelings. Still, think about this, maybe they are just envious. I am so proud of my Indian heritage. My mother taught me everything her mother taught her about respecting all living creatures, caring for the land, digging roots - I believe any ailment can be cured with the proper roots! The Indian culture is so wonderful, the history so incredible. Just look what everyone else has done to nature - dam up the rivers, clear-cut the forests, kill the little animals, and drain every swamp for a parking lot. Indians are not the same as all others - they possess qualities that others never will. So don't let what others think or how some people look at you bother you even for a second. Embrace your heritage and culture and feel sorry for everyone who is not you!!

I know what you are going through. I'm Plains Cree and also Blackfoot, and it's just ridiculous how some people will be towards me. It's all about stereotypes, and the negative image that society has brought upon any Native person. Like for instance in Hollywood, Natives are still being portrayed as savages and what not. That was a LONG time ago.

I agree. It's probably the whole adapting to other people thing. When people have conversations on racism, you always hear, black white this, or when you think of races, you say Black, White, Hispanic and Asian, when there are others slightly out of those four categories, so aren't mentioned at times. But in all, race isn't an issue for me, it's prejudice, and stereotyping.

Because there will always be ppl who r different to others, mentalllity, way of thinking attitudes, we mayb da same in terms of blood, species, but not same as way of thinking, characteristics, mentallity etc, if that was not the case, dnt u tink the world wud be the same, but its not, different ppl from different countres have diffeteny way oif thinking, sum ppl r stronger then odas, dey look to u as weak ppl, ppl who were conqered by the whites so belive that u ppl r weak and uncivilsed and were'nt strong enough to stop other people invading u so therefore look to u as people who r below da whites, and less superior then the whites are, and dnt look to u as open minded people, cuz lets face it , there will always be ppl who r diffetn to others, like some ppl have repuation of being stronger then odas, being open minded then others, being ruthelss then others, being carign then others, being weak and dumb then others, speacially ppl who got conqered, they look to them as weak and not strong smart enough ppl so look to Indians as certainly that, u get wat im saying, trust me this is true.

Indians or Native Americans? I don't want to get confused here, but Indians.... are from India.

I think Indians are beautiful. And Native Americans are interesting. I don't see anything wrong with either group.

people generally look at others with suspicion if you are not like them. This is ignorance, intolerance, and naivete.

Don't worry about them, just go on with your life.

BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING STEREOTYPICAL ABOUT YOU. THEY KNOW ABOUT SADDAM AND OTHERS FROM FOREIGN PLACES AND THINK THE SAME THING ABOUT THEM ALL. JUST LIKE HOW SOME PEOPLE THINK THE SAME WAY ABOUT ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN PEOPLE. THEY ARE JUST IGNORANT THAT'S ALL.
