For me there are 3 main reasons:

(1) We cannot co-operate effectively to get things done
(2) At the same time, there is something else I can do to earn more money
(3) The company is going bust very soon, and they try to cover it up

"For a better opportunity, an opportunity to grow, assume more responsibility." Say that to the boss as your reason for leaving and it will not leave broken glass on the floor. Use it as the reason for seeing new employment on the employment forms. Looks good. And, by the way, it should be a true statement of your reasons. More money will follow if you achieve the first sentence.

make sure you always come out ahead! This is for you to define, not your friends or any one else. It's what you feel is important enough to quit over! Make sure you come out ahead , it's not always about money!
