I think the Mavericks are the better team because they play good defense. Many think they are an offensive team, but they are only allowing 93.0 points per game this season. They will knock the Suns out of the playoffs if they make it that far.

Phoenix Suns have better stats and more talent, but Mavericks have more experience and defense. The Mavericks also won both games against Phoenix this season, although that matters less in the playoffs than whoever wants it more because Mavs have the motivation of redeeming blowing the championship last year.

It is unquestionably the Suns right now. Do you realize they won 15 in a row, lost 2 of 3, then won 17 in a row. The two losses were 1) on a last second shot, and 2)in overtime when they had a shot to win at the buzzer.
So if TWO shots had gone the other way for them, they could have had a 35 game win streak! 35 games. As it is they went 33-2, but almost won all of them.
I am by no means a Suns fan, and the Mavs are very good also, but what the Suns have done is almost inconceivable.

The Suns are a greater robust group then the Mavericks yet they have a not undemanding time matching up against the Mavericks. Dirk and Steve play different positions, yet I do have faith that Steve is the better participant all around. I definately think of the Suns are a greater relaxing group to observe then the Mavs

Suns- Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Boris Diaw, Amare Stoudamire, Leandro Barbosa.
By far the best team in the NBA. Any team with Steve Nash is unstopable.

Mavs...they play better defense and got farther in the postseason last year.
Of course, Suns now have Amare at almost full strength and they were able to beat the Mavs a couple of seasons ago in the playoffs.
