I would say that Jimi Hendrix was not better than the Beatles because they have different style. When it comes to popularity, the Beatles was more popular than Jimi Hendrix.

He wasn't.
But depending on how you're defining better, you can measure how much better he wasn't.
If you're looking at album sales, or how many people bought and listened to the music of the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles would outshine any other musical group of the 20th century. By 1985, the Fab Four had moved one billion pieces of audio.
If you're looking at influence, Hendrix certainly affected the progression of the electric guitar and rock and roll. But the Beatles, as a four man band, had at least four times the influence. Plenty of bands cite each Beatle as individually influencing their particular instrument or genre.
Finally, if you're just looking at plain great musical technicality, VH1 put Jimi Hendrix at No. 3, behind the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, as Greatest Rock Artists of All Time.
In short, he wasn't better. But he was pretty good.

Apples and oranges, man. They were both great for different reasons. I prefer Jimi, but I love the Beatles.

well, i'm a much bigger jimi fan than i am of the beatles, but its sorta like comparing bbq sauce and ice cubes. they're so different, its more a matter of what music you like than what artist.
and for the record, jimi LOVED the beatles. he played a gig a few days after the Sgt Pepper album came out, and instead of doing his own stuff he just played their album from start to finish. paul mccartney was at that gig and was blown away by it. true story.

as much as I love my Jimi......Beatles were by FAR the more talented....but Jimi was very technical in a very different aspect. As guitarists go, Jimi is #1...as far as songs, Beatles by far, I mean, almost every song was a HIT!!!!

He wasn't better than the beatles at ALL. He just poured the trash of his mind on his dirty guitar and that was all.

There is no comparison. However it may appear, both are quite dead now.
