You should have given us an explanation of the problem. It may or may not be a virus.

In any event - and it can't hurt - if you have an antivirus program, I suggest you go into Safe Mode to run a full scan - now. Will probably take a couple of hours.

To get to Safe Mode, turn your PC on or Restart. As soon as you see the black and white screen press and hold down the F8 key. Continue holding until a screen is displayed with a black and white menu. Safe Mode should be F3 or F5.

When the scan is finished, just Restart. Your desktop icons may be a little out of order - no big deal - drag them back.

I know the Geek Squad does this kind of remote support. They're attached to Best Buy. Circuit City offers a similar service called FireDog. See their web sites. I would give you URL's but it's probably considered bad form.

Not sure which state you're in, so perhaps where you are you have different stores, but these people will still help you over the phone.

I am not associated with either of these companies.

Go to www.download.com
Download Adware SE, Spybot, and AVG free
This will give you a starting point
If you then don't know how to remove them ask a friend who knows computers or find a computer repair shop nearby.
