Those are two systems that are really hard to compare. The PS3 is technologically much more capable and advanced, and more of a high-end multipurpose entertainment system. The Wii is a more affordable dedicated gaming console, which will have more limitations but will still offer a great gaming experience.

That depends. Surely the PS3 has better graphics and sound. But I'm willing to bet, that if you get a few friends over and play a game of Wii Sports with them you will definitely have the fun of you life.
The controls of the Wii let you play games like you have never played them before.
However, I don't know how willing you are to experiment.
If you want to play it safe, and stick to old "it worked back then, then it works today with better graphics" you will be happy with the PS3. However it will be the same games and the same way you already played on your PS2. Just better graphics (only if you have a HDTV that is).
With the Wii you will have a new way to play, fresh games, that won't be on any other console (or in case of Rayman Raving Rabbids, these ports will be boring as hell).
So, get a Wii. Check it out. If you don't like it, there are enough people that are willing to buy it from you if you don't like it.

Well , technologically the PS3 is better , better controls and all but in terms of Gameplay I think the Wii is better . I have a Wii the way and its awesome . Plus the Wii will cost you less But If you can afford a PS3 then I would recommend getting the PS3 .

well a ps3 has better graphics and it loads faster, but its basically the same thing as the ps2 except with better stuff and it's more expensive. A wii is all new, with different controllers and stuff than the gamecube. you don't need to buy extra gear. for example, if you wanna play tennis on it, than you dont need to get the special controllers, you just use the wii controller and swing. it has a better price too. in all, i think the wii is better in gaming and price.

its the wii the ps3 is not that good.... p.s. you have to have a internet connection or you cant yous your ps3....... ;[
