I ate silkworm larvae when we lived in Korea. That was years ago. They were boiled in soysauce and very tasty but I had no idea what I was eating until afterward. Have you ever read the book, "How to Eat Fried Worms?" It actually tells how to cook nightcrawlers. I have eaten a superworm before and they are very bitter. My suggestion is to buy some mealworms and saute in butter until crunchy and then place over the top of a favorite veggie.

I swallowed a June bug once (a big beetle) but it was totally accidental and I didn't have a chance to chew it or anything like that. It scratched all the way down. I had a visual of it sticking all its legs out and eeeee-eeeee-eeeee-eeee-eeee down to my stomach. It's made a good story for me.

My brother had spiders hatch out in his hand when he was a boy. He had a calloused spot at the base of his thumb. One day a tiny hole opened up and a whole parade of tiny spiders marched out. We didn't eat them.

Locusts and grasshoppers, roasted or fried are very good, and more people should take advantage in locust plagues. I ate a fly by accident - I survived!
