Sometimes I feel like I am, and its not healthy. Some of my guy friends stay up till 3 am playing WOW ... I think a lot of people do, and it may be interupting peoples' life. Like it can seriously take over my life sometimes, I push other things a side. I'll tell my self that Ill just be on it until I beat a level or so, at a quiting point, but then I don't stop till I feel too guilty too continue, and I'll be on it for hours and hours!! I know it sounds like I have a great lack of self control, but so many other people also seem to have this problem. Should it be considered as an addiction?

MMORPG's are quite addictive, but it never seemed like a concern to me until the dreaded WoW. I know how addicting RPGs can be, even ones as simple as Runescape. Wanting to reach that next level or just getting to that one point in the game is what takes up so much time, which makes it so addictive. Addiction is presently thought of as how much time you spend on a game. WoW is by far the most dangerous game to start playing. Because usually with great games like WoW you spend hours an hours playing until the games over. The problem with WoW is that it never ends, so those days cranking out endless hours never end either.

It is an addiction. There's a show on cable channel A&E called "Intervention", it was on last night. The episode was about a young man addicted to video games. His family did an intervention and he went to rehab. It was so weird, he would not get up from a chair in front of his tv for like 12 hr. stretches. He avoided normal activities and just played video games.

Absolutely!
I still wind up playing some games till late into the evening.
I've been known to get into a game of Battlefield 2 at 11PM and not finish till 1AM and then turn around and start another round because I'm so caught up in it.

Lately I just won't start a game after midnight just so I can go to bed and get up for work the next day.

I am not too interested in WoW but I LOVE Counter-Strike and I became addicted to it. Pushed homework aside and everything else and my brother took after me so I had to literally sit down with him and get him to stop because when I got into High School video games are still cool but College Prep, Position, an even ladies require alot of that time.

Well, I suppose it is possible, I mean I really like my share of the PS2 and Guild Wars, but taking it to the level of an addiction is a little extreme.

look up the show INTERVENTION it is on A & E I believe. Normally they do shows about people on drugs or with some other disease.
Last weekend they did one with someone who was addicted to video games.
It was just as sad as the ones that are addicted to crack.
