Tell your parents...

I don't know how old you are but it sounds like your cousin is very immature and insecure and is using the old "pulley system"--putting you down to bring himself up--to make himself feel more powerful than you. It's the sign of a coward. Also, he derives some satisfaction from making you feel bad and getting a rise out of you. Your best defense is to ignore him. Does it really matter what he thinks? Tell yourself that his opinion of you has no control over your life. Tell yourself that he's an insecure bully who is so unhappy in his own life that he has to make someone feel weaker and more miserable than he does. Then, when he starts in on you, ignore him. Play a game in which you pretend he's not even in the room. Pretend you haven't heard a word he says. It'll make him crazy because he isn't getting the satisfaction of getting a response from you. A friend of mine used to say, "Don't get in a pissing contest with a skunk", meaning don't bother to try to fight back with words. Just ignore him and he'll eventually give up and go away. If your cousin is an adult, he should be ashamed of himself for acting like such a jerk. I'm surprised no adult has told him to shut up and leave you alone.

try setting aside a day where the 2 of you can talk. And be honest with each other. Tell your cousin how it makes you feel when they insult you. Maybe ask your cousin why he or she likes making fun of you. and if that doesn't work, distance yourself for while and let things cool down, and then try talking again. if it still continues find someone to talk to. either your parents, or a best friend.

is your cousin a she or he?
i'll take her for a she, ok?
go and tell your cousin what you think of her, confront her and ask her why is she behaving like that...is she jealous? have you done something that annoyed her enormously? is she taking her revenge on something you or your family has done? talk to her and ask her the reason for her behaviour...there may be a reason for it...if she tells you something, try and solve the problem with her, she may be behaving like that because perhaps she's suffering...ask and help her if she's in trouble...but if ever she is acting like that out of pure revenge or jealousy or whatever stupid reason...ignore her and leave her else she'll hurt you even more if she knows by insulting you, you are suffering...don't talk to her and if possible, have a talk to her parents and your parents/someone you really trust and tell them of the situation, am sure they will help you...good luck

You need to let your cousin know that what he or she says is not nice and that it hurts you. You have to speak up because soon or later you will resent your cousin for being so mean.

I learned this lesson a long time ago. the first thing you can do is confront your cousin and tell them exactly how you feel. if they don't accept and respect your feelings then your best option is to distance yourself from them--blood or not
