Charlie Chaplin. He was a genius and considering he had to work in "silence", he conveyed emotions exceptionally well. As far as stunts go, no one could touch Harold Lloyd. I don't know very much about Buster Keaton. I always seem to associate him with those "Beach Blanket" movies with Frankie and Annette.

Charlie Chaplin definitely wins the contest.

Its a toss up between Keaton and Lloyd. Lloyd has such an animated face, much more so than the other two. Keaton did outragous stunts like hanging from the clock and having the front of the house fall over him while he escapes danger by standing percisely where the attic window will land.

I guess it really boils down to Keaton just because the stuntwork was so dangerous.

I think that Chaplin came into his own in the full length movies that he produced but his shorts were all very samey. If I was to watch a movie I would go with Chaplin's Gold Rush or the Kid but for short length entertainment I would give my vote to Buster Keaton as he did some classic 30 min pieces. My favourite was the one where he wrapped himself in an asbestos suit to avoid getting roasted by Indians.

How on earth can you choose? They are all great and cannot truly be compared.

Having said that I grew up watching Harold Lloyd on Saturday mornings as a kid so I'm probably more familiar with his work.

Keaton. I could relate to him, as a man overwhelmed by circumstances.

And "Cops" STILL makes me howl. The scene of him tearing down the street with the ENTIRE LAPD in hot pursuit. Thousand and thousands of cops in full tilt

Difficult!!
All three are very good.
Lloyd(Harold) the nicest a very friendly person and one of the first owners of the film company in Hollywood.
Keaton(Buster) very talented and even in his personal life he was paid not to smile.
Chaplin(Charlie) a legend writer, composer and of course actor, yes I have to choose this one , but the other 2 had a better personal character.
