im writing a paper and im almost finished but wanted to know yall opinion for a few tweaks.

discuss how the poems various literary elements illuminate the speaker's attitude toward himself and his place in the world.

A NOISELESS, patient spider,
I mark’d, where, on a little promontory, it stood, isolated;
Mark’d how, to explore the vacant, vast surrounding,
It launch’d forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself;
Ever unreeling them—ever tirelessly speeding them.

And you, O my Soul, where you stand,
Surrounded, surrounded, in measureless oceans of space,
Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing,—seeking the spheres, to connect them;
Till the bridge you will need, be form’d—till the ductile anchor hold;
Till the gossamer thread you fling, catch somewhere, O my Soul.

This is a poem about a man who observes a spider tirelessly build a web in the corner of the room. It is a very small spider and the task at hand is such that it needs to jump from one place to another to hook strand after strand after strand in just the right places. The spider is investing itself in a task not because it is just something fun to do, but rather because it needs to do this to live. So realizing the task has to be performed, it continues to patiently build the web.

By picking the spider, the author shows that he finds himself as a tiny insignificant part of a very big world.

He feels very much alone and isolated from the rest of the world, but in order to survive he has to engage in activities that take a lot of effort, patience and an element of risk. Because the reward is life, he is willing to continue the task in silence, solitude, and without rest.

This individual also is crying out to God as evidenced by the capitalized Soul. He is weeping inside with the need for somebody who will share his lonely vigil.

This individual might be lost in depression and crying out to God to give him the strength to find the bridge back to sanity. When he speaks of a bridge he will need and continuing till the ductile anchor hold, he indicates he feels as though he is in a bowl with smooth sides and he cannot grab the edge, so he has to continue his task. He is hungry for someone to help him return to reality and sanity. I weep for this person and pray he will find the way.
