Raul H ,YES YOU CAN!!!! Downshifting is recommended to help slow a car down along with braking and is also recommended by the manufacturer (look in your owners manual) In fact to help with the braking you can keep downshifting all the way to 2nd gear. You have the 700r4 tranny in your Camaro and is very durable. Have been downshifting automatics and manual trannys for years. In the last 17 yrs I have owned 3 cars and all of them except for my present car had over 250,000 mi on them and no tranny problems from downshifting

Sure, but why would you? The engine revs will go up and the gas mileage will drop.

you can but it is not good on the clutches upshifting isnt to bad for it but the down shifting is truthfully u r not supposed to touch it

yes you can do it,but you wont gain anything from it,you,ll loose gas mileage and slow the car down also and this really isn't good for the transmission be sifted down at that speed,but yes go ahead ,its your car ,good luck.
