of work polo shirts? Caused by deodorant, the material has gone all hard & scratchy. Material has UPF 50+ is
fluro orange & is 100% polyester. I think it involves a paste
of either Borax or Bi-carb with what? Help!!

I know what you can try in the future...I know it mean some work but...In the old days they used to use "dress shields" to protect clothing from sweat stains. You can still buy them in the notions department of stores that sell fabrics/sewing supplies. If you want to protect expensive clothing you can stitch these into the armpits and remove/replace them when they get too stiff.

Unfortunately, I have had the same problem with my husbands dress shirts. Once the material gets hard you are pretty much out of luck. I have tried dry cleaning, spray & wash, borax, vinegar, bleach, shampoo and even spray calcium & salt removers. I have also tried endless different soaps & detergents. I know how frustrating it can be especially with the cost of good shirts. I think it is time to buy some new ones.

have u tried washing with fabric-softener or having it dry cleaned. . .?
